Ibn Kathir said that seeing oneself as a scholar in a dream signifies an increase in honor.
Ja'far al-Sadiq said that seeing a scholar is interpreted in four ways: worth and esteem, respect among people, rank, and justice. Kissing a scholar's hand signifies benefiting from their knowledge; seeing a scholar give you something signifies a high degree in this world and the Hereafter.
