Seeing the Pool of Kawthar and drinking from it signifies dying in faith.
Seeing people around the pool asking for water but receiving none signifies that people have departed from justice.
Taking and drinking from a cup bearing one's name signifies great knowledge and benefit in this world and the next.
Drinking from Kawthar as described in the hadith signifies attaining the blessing of drinking from it in the hereafter.
Ja'far al-Sadiq interprets the Pool of Kawthar through a person beneficial to others, a wealthy and generous person, accumulated wealth, and a scholar whose knowledge benefits people. Repairing the pool signifies doing many good deeds, sincerity in religion, and perseverance in worship; destroying it signifies the opposite.
