Seeing oneself fallen ill in a dream signifies strife and hypocrisy, in accordance with the verse "In their hearts is a disease" (al-Baqarah 10). If a warrior on the battlefield sees himself fallen ill, it is a sign that he will be wounded.
Seeing a sick child recover signifies that child's death. If a person sees his wife sick, it signifies the health of his wife's body and a deficiency in her religion. If a sick person sees himself rolling in oil or riding a camel or an ox, it is a sign that his appointed time is near.
Seeing all the people of a city sick with no one left to work is a sign that the city will be overrun by an enemy. Some have said: Whoever sees himself sick will crush his enemy. His life will be long, his living good, and his wealth great. If a man in sorrow and distress sees himself sick, it signifies deliverance from sorrow and distress.
Seeing a man one knows fall ill is a sign that that person will fall ill. If a person sees both his sons sick, this dream is a sign that both his eyes will ache. For sons are like a person's two eyes. Epidemic diseases such as plague seen among the people signify famine, high prices, stagnation of livelihoods, and sin and hypocrisy. Sometimes they are a sign of doctors and sellers of shrouds profiting. Whoever sees his father sick will have a headache. For the head is in the place of the father.
Seeing the head of state sick signifies a deficiency and corruption in religion. If a weak and feeble person sees himself fat, it signifies that his body will gain strength. If a person sees himself sick, it signifies that he is much occupied with false and corrupt things.
