Year

Seeing a year in a dream signifies famine, deprivation, hardship and severity; at times it signifies doubt in religion, and at other times abundance of knowledge.

Seeing a year may also signify strife that the dreamer will experience from another person.

Seeing the year while among the people signifies abundance of goodness.

For those living through famine, distress, and severity, seeing a year signifies an increase in goodness and deliverance from distress and severity. Al-Nabulsi said that seeing a year signifies a calamity that the dreamer will see in oneself or another, in accordance with the verse whose meaning is: "Do the hypocrites not see that they are tried once or twice every year, yet they still do not repent or take heed?" (Qur'an 9:126). If they are in famine, however, this dream signifies an increase in goodness.
