Seeing oneself wage war and march against the enemy in a dream signifies zeal for religion, purity of heart, and going on the pilgrimage.

Seeing oneself take enemy soldiers captive is a sign of learning hidden secrets and of good news. Sometimes a dream of war also signifies the dearness of the current price. Again, waging war in a dream is a sign of severity and deceit that will arise between one and the person who fights one or urges war. If a person sees the people of a city fight one another in a dream, it signifies that dearness and price rises will gain ground in that city. War seen between two rulers signifies strife or a plague.

Seeing two armies fighting one another, or seeing oneself in the midst of a war, signifies fear, hardship, sorrow, and grief.

Fighting at sea signifies fearfulness, involvement in dangerous affairs, being caught between two enemies—one the sea and the other the opposing force—and liability for compensation. At times it signifies seeking provision from the sea or from the person symbolized by the sea.
