Classical interpretations

The Torah is described in the source as one of the four great revealed books and as having been sent down to Moses. If a man who does not know how to read the Torah sees himself reading it, this signifies the Qadariyya and Jabriyya sects. If a Muslim ruler sees a Torah with him, it signifies conquering one of the enemy cities. If a scholar sees the Torah, it signifies an increase in knowledge. At times, seeing the Torah signifies finding lost property or being reunited with a missing person. It also signifies the People of the Book. For an unmarried person, seeing the Torah signifies marrying a woman from another nation. If a man whose wife is pregnant sees a Torah in his hand, it signifies that the child to be born will be a girl.

Seeing the Torah and the Gospel together signifies seeing the Noble Prophet. At times, seeing the Torah and the Gospel signifies breaking a covenant and engaging in permitted matters. The Torah is also interpreted as knowledge, wisdom, and guidance.
