Classical interpretations

Hunting or killing a tiger signifies overcoming and subduing an enemy.

Eating tiger meat signifies attaining wealth and honor.

Riding a tiger signifies great sovereignty. Kirmani said that riding a tiger is interpreted in four ways: (a) an exalted position, (b) elevation, (c) rank and dignity, and (d) victory over an enemy. The tiger's skin, hair, and bones signify an enemy's wealth.

Ja'far al-Sadiq (may God be pleased with him) said that a tiger dream is interpreted in three ways: (a) a powerful enemy, (b) wealth obtained from an enemy, and (c) fear of the sultan or his men. Being bitten by a tiger signifies harm and loss in proportion to the bite. Sometimes a tiger signifies a man, and sometimes a woman, according to differences in its color. It has been said that whoever sees himself hunt a tiger or leopard will obtain benefit from a sinful man.

Seeing a tiger also signifies deceitful people.

Drinking tiger's milk signifies the emergence of enmity for the one who drinks it, because the tiger is a stubborn animal fierce in hostility. Sometimes seeing a tiger signifies repentance from sins and seeking forgiveness.
