Spindle head

For an unmarried woman, seeing the head of a spindle signifies marriage. It also signifies patience and steadfastness in affairs, a guide for a traveler or guest, profitable merchandise, and marriage for the unmarried.

Seeing oneself undo the thread one has spun signifies going back on a promise. If a married woman sees that she has lost the head of the spindle, it signifies divorce from her husband.
