Poverty

If a person sees a poor person in a dream, it is a sign of poverty that brings suffering.

Seeing oneself become poor in a dream is a sign of wealth. If a person sees himself poor in a dream: "My Lord, I am truly in need of whatever good You send down to me." (al-Qasas, 24): by the indication of the noble verse meaning this, much wealth and food will come into that person's hands. Again, seeing poverty in a dream signifies righteousness in religion and steadfastness and constancy in one's state.

Abu Sa'id al-Wa'iz said: Seeing oneself poor in a dream signifies much food and blessed provision. If a rich man sees himself fall into poverty in a dream, it signifies that his wealth and riches will increase. If a merchant sees the same dream, the case is again the same. If a person sees himself poor and begging from people in a dream, it is a sign of praying very much. For beggars pray a great deal.

Seeing a beggar in a place in a dream is a sign of the death of a rich man in that place and of charity that will come out of it.

Seeing oneself beg and be given what one asks for signifies wealth that will be earned without any toil. For begging is earning without capital. It has been said: Seeing oneself poor in a dream is interpreted as goodness and benefit.

Poverty in a dream signifies righteousness in religion and steadfastness in one's condition. At times seeing oneself poor signifies wealth. Serving and doing good to a poor person signifies companionship with righteous people, a great share with Allah, and a good end.
