Listening

Listening in a dream to a verse from the Noble Qur'an, the Book of Allah, or hearing an ode and a eulogy recited about the Noble Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) signifies guidance and turning to Allah. Al-Nabulsi said: "Lending one's ear in a dream to words said to someone else is a sign of lying, tale-bearing, and sometimes of something ugly that will befall the dreamer from the sultan."

Seeing oneself hear fine words from someone else and follow those words signifies good tidings and joy. For a good word is like charity.

Hearing the voices of animals in a dream is a sign of grief, sorrow, fear, and hardship.

Seeing a horse neigh, however, signifies honor and strength. If a person hears the twittering of a swallow in a dream, it signifies useful words and listening to the Noble Qur'an. In a dream, the sound of a dog signifies idle and empty talk; the sound of a leopard, astonishment and terror; and the sound of a pigeon, crying out, weeping aloud, or denial.
