Beard

Seeing a beard signifies wealth, honor, and dignity for a man.

Seeing one's beard shaved is interpreted in three ways: release from debt; recovery from illness; and the departure of grief and sorrow.

Seeing one's beard grow so long that it reaches the belly signifies wealth and fame, and the dreamer will endure hardship in obtaining them in proportion to the amount of beard reaching the belly.

Seeing the beard grow excessively long until it reaches the ground signifies the end of life and death. Likewise, if a boy who has not yet reached puberty sees his beard grow, he will die before reaching puberty.

Seeing half of one's beard shaved while the other half remains signifies poverty.

Seeing oneself grasp another man's beard and pull it signifies inheriting that man's wealth.

Seeing oneself cut another man's beard likewise signifies consuming that man's inheritance.

Seeing oneself take one or two handfuls from one's own beard without anything being diminished signifies wealth that will come from a person of fame and authority.

Seeing one's wife with a beard signifies a great increase in the dreamer's wealth or in the wealth of his son, and also signifies the wife's illness. At times, seeing a beard signifies awe and strength, a shop, means of livelihood, clothing, earnings, and benefit.

For a woman to see herself grow a beard signifies becoming masculine and shameless.

Imam al-Nabulsi said: If a married woman sees herself with a beard, it signifies the disappearance or absence of her husband; if she is a widow, it signifies marriage to a capable man suited to her circumstances; if a pregnant woman sees it, it signifies giving birth to a boy; if she has a lawsuit or enmity, it signifies victory and taking the place of men and acting like a man.

Ibn Kathir said that pulling one's beard signifies inheritance.

Seeing the beard turn gray signifies seeing something one dislikes.

Seeing a woman's beard grow is interpreted in seven ways: if she is pregnant, she gives birth to a boy; if she is not pregnant, she will never bear a child; if she already has a child, that child becomes leader of his people; if she is a widow, she marries; she receives an inheritance from her husband; she performs work like men; and she attains honor and prosperity.

Seeing one's beard become somewhat gray signifies an increase in honor, respect, and dignity; seeing it become completely white like snow signifies weakness in strength, less respect, and a decrease in wealth.
