Az-Zukhruf

Classical interpretations

Seeing oneself recite this blessed surah, or hearing it recited over oneself, signifies being among the servants given the glad tidings expressed in the verse, 'O My servants who believed in My signs and submitted, there will be no fear upon you today, nor will you grieve.' Ja'far al-Sadiq interpreted it as provision and truthfulness, good work and righteous deeds, keeping away from evil, and treating people with kindness. It has also been said that the person's speech will be truthful, his share of worldly things will be small, and he will attain happiness and glad tidings in the Hereafter.
