Al-Nur

Classical interpretations

Seeing oneself recite Surah al-Nur or part of it, or hearing it recited, is interpreted as knowledge, wisdom, generosity and beneficence, the heart shining with light, and recovery from illness.

Ja'far al-Sadiq said that seeing oneself recite Surah al-Nur or part of it, or hearing it recited, signifies enjoining what is good, forbidding what is wrong, loving for God's sake, and opposing for God's sake.
