Seeing oneself give the call to prayer in a dream is interpreted as goodness, blessing, mercy, and the pilgrimage. And that person will go on the pilgrimage. Sometimes seeing the call to prayer also signifies that a proclamation will be heard announcing preparations for war and battle. Again, giving the call to prayer in a dream signifies the elevation of one's office and degree, rising to a great rank, true news to be heard, and, for the unmarried, marriage.

Ja'far al-Sadiq said: A dream of the call to prayer is interpreted as follows: a) the worship of the pilgrimage, b) true and right words, c) work, d) loftiness of standing, e) leadership, f) death, g) bankruptcy, h) treachery, i) prying (looking into the inner side of something), j) little religion and hypocrisy...

Ibn Kathir said: Seeing oneself give the call to prayer, or seeing it given, in a dream is interpreted as prayer, kindness, obedience, goodness, being safe from the evil of Satan, and deliverance. Giving the call to prayer in a place where it is not fitting to give it is not good. This dream is a sign of a state of major ritual impurity or something like it coming about. Ibn Fudala said: Seeing oneself give the call to prayer, or seeing it given, on a horse or another animal signifies a journey; giving the call to prayer on a ship signifies ease coming about in one's affairs.

Seeing oneself give the call to prayer on a high mountain is a sign of speaking true words about a great person of high standing; giving the call to prayer from a minaret is a sign of a journey, returning safely, and obtaining the pearl of one's wish. Again, seeing oneself listen to the call to prayer signifies persevering in prayer, and hearing the sound of the iqama signifies success in good works.

Seeing children give the call to prayer is a sign that that quarter will be overrun by the ignorant and the people of innovation.

Seeing the call to prayer given in the streets and markets is interpreted as a clean life and a good livelihood. If a person sees himself give the call to prayer in the sky and people listening to him, it is a sign of calling humanity to the Truth and to good. Again, if a man sees himself give the call to prayer twice in succession, say the iqama, and perform the obligatory prayer, this dream is interpreted as the pilgrimage and the umrah, and that person will go on the pilgrimage by Allah's leave.

Seeing oneself give the call to prayer on the roof of one's own house signifies, if one has a wife, the wife's death. Al-Nabulsi said: Whoever sees himself give the call to prayer on top of the Kaaba will become one of the people of innovation and will speak ill of the Companions. The wife of a person who sees himself give the call to prayer lying face down will trouble people by spreading tales among them. If the one who sees the dream is unmarried, he will marry.
